Marex Hedging Solutions specifically helps corporates hedge their risk to volatility of commodity and currency prices through tailor-made bespoke OTC (bi-lateral) hedging solutions. This role will require the employee to perform a cross-commodity sales function within the Hedging Solutions department with a particular focus on Environmental Products.
Role Summary
An ambitious and proactive individual, with prior experience in the Energy sector. Responsible for supporting the trade flow on the desk as well as developing own portfolio of OTC clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality sales coverage across the EMA region for OTC Commodities clients of Marex Solutions, dealing in OTC (bi-laterally traded) commodity products
- Create value and capture revenue from existing client base and over time, the individual will be expected to build and manage their own direct client base, contributing to the growth of the EMEA OTC Commodities business
- Work closely with brokers across Marex, and other divisions of the firm (e.g Clearing, CSC Commodities) in driving synergies and potential new business opportunities
- Liaise with Internal Stakeholders across the business (Credit / Compliance / Legal / Onboarding / Ops / Trading / Risk) to ensure compliance with the company’s policies and procedures with regards to day-to-day business activity and client communication
- The individual will be directly corresponding with clients – which typically includes corporates, banks, trading houses and some institutional clients
- Supporting senior team members with coverage of existing clients, onboarding of new clients and business development workflows such as assisting with the setting up of new products
- Strategising to increase P&L, requiring analysis of markets and products
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA, NFA, AMF, AFM, MAS or any other relevant regulatory body.
- Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

Skills and Experience
- At least 2 years* experience working in and good understanding of global commodity markets and, in particular, European Environmental and Energy markets
- Good knowledge of financial derivatives and how these can be used/structures to help clients to manage their underlying commodity price risks
- Strong analytical skills and proven track record of sound judgement
- Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this. Prior FCA certification a bonus.
