Description of Department  

 Marex Solutions, a division of Marex, is a specialist producer of tailored OTC derivatives and structured products. We are a highly entrepreneurial and fast growing manufacturer, trader and service provider of customised derivative solutions. Role Summary

 Responsible for the control, the front to back support, the processes and the automation of the operational aspect of the Marex Solutions business, particularly providing regional coverage and support in the Latam and US time zone.


Overall Responsibilities 

  • Supervise, guide and motivate the Operations team members locally.
  • Oversight of all daily controls and processes for the Marex Solutions business locally: The team performs wide range of middle office and back office tasks ranging from reconciling trade positions and cash flows, managing structured trade lifecycles across asset classes for both OTC and listed products, sending trade confirmations and client statements, dealing with margin calls and settlements, as well as making sure all relevant trades are reported correctly to meet MiFID, EMIR and Dodd-Frank etc regulatory frameworks. This is across all asset classes (commodity, FX, equity, interest rates, credit and cryptocurrency).
  • Assist Head of Structured Products Operations with her responsibilities and follow up on issues/initiatives/projects to resolution or go-live.
  • Act as point of escalation for the team and handle operational incidents, address control gaps and mitigate operational risks.
  • Report issues and risks to Head of Structured Products Operations and represent Operations in various working groups and departmental meetings.
  • Hand-hold and deliver new initiatives and projects, and enable new business from an operations perspective.
  • Work with technologists to automate and streamline operations processes in order to create a scalable controlled operational flow.
  • Ensure regulatory reporting compliance of all Solutions trades and work with IT and Compliance to close any gaps.
  • Maintain operating procedures and check lists for the Operations team.
  • Generate management information for senior managers and help daily monitoring of team performance, recommend strategies on resource and systems.
  • Work closely and partner with other departments such as finance, treasury, risk, audit and compliance.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the appropriate regulatory body.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

Skills and Experience 

  • Experienced middle office or Operations supervisor, used to managing a control function and having direct reports.
  • Hands-on supervisor, not afraid of getting to the nitty-gritty of issues and lead by example and experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OTC derivatives and structured products lifecycle management.
  • Familiar with the necessary front to back controls, reconciliations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experienced in managing and leading projects to timely delivery.
  • Comfortable partnering with multiple departments and a team player.
